Description

High and low frequency shielding paint for indoor use, one bag for 3 L paint (EUR 39.00 / L).
Important: Our products do not contain any graphene oxide (GO).

With the new PLV+ paint series, a graphene-free shielding paint has been developed.

Thanks to the carbon fibres that replaced graphene, it was possible to maintain the particularly high conductivity required for the dissipation of low-frequency fields.

Highly effective shielding paint against electrosmog, such as radiation from mobile phones, mobile internet, 5G, WLAN, DECT, GSM, LTE, etc.
With earthing, the electric fields of low-frequency household current (alternating current) can be almost completely shielded or even deflected.

Apart from providing very high shielding, it is largely frost-resistant in powder form and can be stored for several years without losing its properties.
Another advantage is the short drying time, which makes it possible to apply the second coat without having to wait for hours.
After drying, it leaves no marks when touched.

The short drying time makes it particularly time-saving and after a few hours (through-drying) it can be easily painted over with most commercially available wall paints.

It is an easy-to-use, high-yield paint. It is simply mixed for 10 minutes with 2.75/3.0 litres of water per bag using a stirrer and a drill (cordless screwdriver) according to the instructions. The yield of the shielding paint on smooth, primed substrates is 5.0m² per litre (for one painted coat).

With a layer thickness of approx. 100g/m² and a yield of 7-8 m² / litre, the shielding is as follows:
One-layer 36 dB | Two-layer 58 dB | Three-layer 65 dB

With a layer thickness of approx. 150g/m² and a coverage of 5m² / litre, the shielding is as follows:
One-layer 49 dB | Two-layer 65 dB
We recommend to always protect with at least two coats.

The shielding effectiveness was measured by means of an independent expert opinion.

All shielding effectiveness values given apply to frequencies from 500 MHz to 40 GHz and are confirmed in a report by Professor Pauli of the University of the Federal Armed Forces in Munich.

Strong shielding performance for 5G – Shielding performance up to 40 GHz

The strength of our shielding graphite paint lies primarily in the shielding of the future often used, very high frequencies as in 5G. This includes both 5G frequency spectra FR1 (600 MHz to 6 GHz) and FR2 (24GHz to 40 GHz) since product launch in 2019.

Tips

The shielding paint adheres very well to almost all substrates such as plasterboard, wallpaper, old paint, plaster, unpainted wood, concrete, styrofoam, etc.

It should preferably be painted over with dispersion paint for interiors.

Paints based on clay should be avoided in any case.
Natural or organic paints based on silicate emulsion, lime and casein paints should always be tested before application, as not all paints adhere equally well to graphite!
Pure mineral paints (clay, pure silicate) are not recommended.

Wallpaper should never be used over graphite paint, as the paste may dilute the paint and reduce its protection.

Connection: Must be grounded! We recommend using a grounding kit and a grounding plug for indoor use.
Important notes: The electrical installation (fuse boxes) must consist of at least two ground fault safety switches (often general 300 mA and one for the bathroom 30 mA). To absorb extremely low frequency electric fields, the ground resistance should ideally be less than 10 ohms. Request more information from a qualified electrical professional. Please note that the earth has no effect on the elimination of high frequencies, only on safety and extremely low frequency electric fields.

IMPORTANT – DID YOU KNOW THAT ?

We attach great importance to the quality of the products we offer.

That is why we decided to sell shielding paint in powder form.

Besides the advantages it brings, it differs from liquid shielding paints by the hazardous substances it does not contain.

Beware of biocides/fungicides !

Unlike powder paints, the production of ready-to-use liquid paints cannot do without preservatives, because without preservatives, about one third of liquid paints would spoil too quickly, even before reaching the consumer.
For most water-based paints, therefore, preservation is the only way to protect them from microbial attack.

A preservative such as the biocide isothiazolinone is therefore included in emulsion paints to protect them.

Nevertheless, the biocide isothiazolinone contained in emulsion paints is a cause for concern.

This can also be read on the homepage of the Association of the German Paint and Printing Ink Industry (VdL):
Isothiazolinones not only have the desired effect of killing microorganisms or controlling their growth, but also undesirable effects. They therefore exhibit high aquatic toxicity.
The most commonly used isothiazolinones are :

  •     Benzisothiazolinone (BIT), classified as a hazardous substance, belongs to the compound class of isothiazolinones and is a widely used biocide.
  •     Enilconazole (INN), classified as a hazardous substance, is a systemic fungicide belonging to the imidazole group.
  •     Methylisothiazolinone (MIT), classified as a hazardous substance, belongs to the class of isothiazolinones and is a widely used biocide.

Therefore, it is absolutely advisable to carefully check the manufacturer’s data sheet before buying shielding paint.

The powder coatings we offer do not contain any preservatives.

Another very important aspect is, of course, the shielding performance!

This is achieved by the reflection and attenuation of high frequency (HF) emissions/radiation.
Low frequency (LF) fields from one’s home network are dissipated via grounding, utilizing the conductive properties of the shielding paint.
Both attenuation and shielding are specified in decibels (dB).

Pay attention to the specified values !

Some manufacturers specify 90 dB or 100 dB for shielding paints, but without specifying the actual thickness of the layer.
The thickness of the layer should be specified in g/m2 – i.e. in grams per square meter per layer.
This value tells the customer how much dry paint is needed per square meter – to actually achieve the specified shielding value.

Here is what is normally achieved with Turtal powder paint, assuming that an even coat with an acrylic roller will give a thickness of about 100-150 g/m²:

At a yield of 5 m² / liter / layer thickness about 150 g / m².
Up to : One coat 49 dB | Two coats 65 dB

At a coverage of approx. 7 m² / liter / layer thickness approx. 100g/m².
Up to : One coat 36 dB | Two coats 58 dB | Three coats 65 dB.

Easy to paint !

Another important aspect is the adhesive strength of the shielding paint. Make absolutely sure that the shielding paint has an adhesive tensile strength of at least 10 N/mm².

If you have painted your wall and graphite dust sticks to your hand when you paint over the dry wall, the adhesion will be very poor.
The wall surface with graphite dust on it will be very difficult to paint over with white or pastel colors. On the other hand, the material that is supposed to serve as a shield will be removed.

So if the shielding paint used does not adhere well or even chalks it is almost impossible to paint over it again in white, or if it does, it is at the expense of shielding performance.

Turtal powder paint has an adhesive tensile strength of 12 N/mm².
