The technical products are available in various designs, including woven, knitted and non-woven versions. Thanks to their conductive properties, they are particularly suitable for shielding electromagnetic radiation in the frequency range from 0.2 GHz to 14 GHz. Nonwovens can be enriched with materials such as silver, copper or tin and are characterized by a relatively low thickness compared to other materials.

Pure silver (99.9%) stands out from other metals because it is a light and flexible precious metal that offers both electrical and thermal conductivity. It also has antimicrobial and EMC shielding properties. Copper, on the other hand, also has antimicrobial properties and is electrically and thermally conductive. Copper is particularly effective in EMC shielding and is frequently used for shielding rooms and cables.

Among the nonwovens presented, the Nonwoven AG should be emphasized. This highly conductive nonwoven contains a thermal binder with a silver content of around 17% and has an electrical conductivity of less than 0.5 Ω/□. It is made of thermally bonded polyamide and offers excellent protection against electromagnetic radiation with a maximum shielding of 78 dB in the frequency range from 0.2 GHz to 14 GHz. The nonwoven is mainly used in industry for technical applications as well as for protecting rooms and for antistatic dissipation in electronic components. It meets the standards of OEKO-TEX® STANDARD 100, REACH and RoHS.

Another nonwoven, the CU 100, is metallized with pure copper and chemically bonded. It offers a shielding capability of around 80 dB in the frequency range from 0.2 GHz to 14 GHz. This chemically bonded nonwoven made of polyamide is ideal for antistatic cables thanks to its metallization with over 50% pure copper. At the same time, it effectively protects against high-frequency electromagnetic radiation and is used in products that require EMC protection, such as wallpaper for room shielding and EMC seals. Due to its flexible properties and high conductivity of less than 0.02 Ω/□, the material is also used as a sensor surface in smart carpets. Conformity and certification in accordance with DIN EN ISO 9001:2015, REACH and RoHS are guaranteed.
