FAQ – Grounding Tape for Shielding Fabrics & Shielding Paint
Do I need an electrician to install the grounding tape?
No, the tape itself can be applied easily by yourself along walls, skirting boards, or under shielding materials. However, the connection to the grounding system (equipotential bonding) must always be carried out by a qualified electrician.
Can the grounding tape be installed under shielding paint?
Yes. Both the adhesive and conductive layers are electrically conductive. The tape can be installed directly on the wall and then covered with conductive shielding paint if required.
Is the grounding tape suitable for outdoor use?
No, this product is designed exclusively for dry and normally tempered indoor environments.
How is the grounding tape delivered?
The tape is supplied as custom-cut meter goods, precisely according to your requested length, so you receive exactly what you need without waste.
What shielding performance does the tape provide?
When correctly integrated into a shielding system, it supports shielding effectiveness of up to approximately 80 dB, corresponding to more than 99.999999% attenuation of electrical alternating fields.
What materials is the grounding tape made of?
It consists of conductive polyamide fleece, copper/tin coating (PBN2), and a conductive acrylic adhesive. Both the backing and adhesive layers are electrically conductive.
What are the dimensions of the tape?
Width: 30 mm
Thickness: approx. 0.2 mm
Weight: approx. 105 g/m² (±10%)
Is the tape resistant and durable?
Yes. It is designed for long-term indoor use with a temperature resistance from -40°C to +90°C and strong mechanical stability.
Can I cut the tape myself?
The tape is usually supplied pre-cut to your requested size. Additional cutting is possible if needed.
Is the grounding tape safe to use?
Yes, provided that all electrical connections are performed by a qualified electrician. All work involving electrical systems must follow safety regulations.
