EMF Shielding Paint for Exterior Walls – Protection Against Electromagnetic Radiation, WiFi and 5G
This graphene-free shielding paint for exterior surfaces has been specifically developed to reliably protect buildings from high-frequency electromagnetic radiation.
It reduces radiation from sources such as:
- Mobile networks (2G, 3G, 4G, 5G)
- WiFi
- LTE
- DECT cordless phones
- Bluetooth
- Mobile phone antennas and transmission towers
The conductive combination of graphite and carbon fibers ensures very high shielding performance and makes this paint ideal for façades, exterior walls and building protection against electromagnetic radiation (EMF / electrosmog).
Graphene-Free Shielding Paint – A Safer Alternative
Our Classic series contains no graphene oxide (GO).
Instead, a combination of carbon fibers and graphite provides the electrical conductivity required for effective dissipation and attenuation of electromagnetic fields.
This ensures strong shielding performance without the potential risks associated with certain graphene compounds.
Shielding Performance Against Electromagnetic Radiation
The shielding effectiveness has been verified by an independent laboratory report.
Measurement range:
500 MHz – 40 GHz
This covers all current mobile communication frequencies, including 5G.
Shielding values at approx. 150 g/m² (approx. 5 m² / liter)
- 1 coat: 49 dB
- 2 coats: 65 dB
Shielding values at approx. 100 g/m² (approx. 7–8 m² / liter)
- 1 coat: 36 dB
- 2 coats: 58 dB
- 3 coats: 65 dB
For reliable shielding performance, we recommend applying at least two coats.
Optimized for Modern Mobile Networks (5G)
This shielding paint also protects against the latest mobile communication frequencies:
- FR1: 600 MHz – 6 GHz
- FR2: 24 GHz – 40 GHz
This makes it particularly suitable for buildings located near mobile phone towers or transmission antennas.
Advantages of Powder-Based Shielding Paint
Our shielding paint is deliberately supplied as a powder.
This offers several advantages compared to liquid shielding paints:
✔ very long shelf life (several years)
✔ frost-resistant during transport
✔ no preservatives required
✔ no microbial spoilage
✔ flexible storage on construction sites
After mixing with water, the paint should be used within approximately one week.
Free From Biocides and Preservatives
Many ready-to-use emulsion paints contain biocides for preservation, for example:
- Benzisothiazolinone (BIT)
- Methylisothiazolinone (MIT)
These substances are used to prevent microbial growth but are increasingly discussed due to potential environmental and health concerns.
Our powder-based shielding paint does not contain these preservatives.
Easy Application
The paint can be easily applied to exterior surfaces.
Application
- Mix the powder with 2.75–3.0 liters of water
- Stir for about 10 minutes using a mixing tool
- Apply using a roller or brush
Coverage
- approx. 5 m² per liter at 150 g/m²
- approx. 7–8 m² per liter at 100 g/m²
After complete drying, the shielding paint can be coated with suitable exterior façade paints.
Excellent Adhesion to Many Substrates
The shielding paint adheres well to many exterior surfaces, including:
- plaster
- concrete
- gypsum
- wood
- old emulsion paints
- external thermal insulation systems (ETICS – after testing)
Adhesion strength:
12.2 N/mm²
This prevents graphite particles from detaching from the surface.
Technical Data

Color: anthracite black
Field types:
- HF (high-frequency electromagnetic fields)
- LF (low-frequency electric alternating fields)
Ingredients:
- pure acrylic binder
- carbon fibers
- graphite

Suitable Top Coats
After drying, the shielding paint should be coated with a suitable exterior façade paint.
Not recommended:
- pure mineral silicate paints
- pure clay paints
When using mineral or ecological façade paints, an adhesion test should be performed beforehand.
Important Note on Grounding
To shield low-frequency electric fields, the shielding surface must be properly grounded.
Grounding must only be carried out by a qualified electrician.
Please also follow the safety and application instructions included with the product.
FAQ
Does the paint really block 5G?
Yes. The shielding effectiveness has been measured up to 40 GHz and therefore fully covers both 5G FR1 and FR2 frequency ranges.
Does the shielding paint need grounding?
Proper grounding is required to shield low-frequency electric fields.
Can the shielding paint be overpainted?
Yes. For exterior use, the coating must always be covered with a façade paint to protect it permanently from weather exposure.
